Ease up Destruction's Depths pls >.>
ok, well today i tried to finish the destructions depths quest, and all was going perfect until i got to the norn room. i got FLOODED with the destroyers during the second stage and wiped over and over again. i find this quest to be impossible and many other people in my guild/alliance have also run into the same problems. Or if anyone knows how to defeat this part i would be greatly appreciative

I actually find the destroyer's easy as foes, um.. i actually purposefully took fire eles to make the "mish" harder/fun on my second time through the campaign. Just bring plenty of dmg reduction (if u can take a human paragon its great) and remember that destroyers have a 50% dmg reduction to fire, and are imune to burning so the regular sf spam dosent work here

I've done that mission twice, once with 2 curses/blood necros + 2 mesmers, and once with interrupt heavy team (rangers/mesmers) and it was one of the easiest mission, since you get golems and respawning allies. Bring proper counters, and destroyers are the weakest of all enemies you'll encounter.
GW:EN simply doesn't work well with typical fire nuking and MMing.

just fall back when they start spawning, let them overwhelm the respawning norn and bunch up, then let your barragers and sandstorm eles have a field day with the mobs.
I loved that quest with my splinter barrage build...yellow numbers all over the screen.

When I first caught a glimpse of destroyers looking all firey I immediately thought use water, even though its not more advantagous it doesnt have an armor bouns for destroyers so I had them already as I was questing, didn't have any problems, just make your golems all melee and have water ele and an ss

I didn't realize I would be fighting destroyers, so I brought myself as a Searing Flames EMe and brought Zedd alone as one too. I still beat it pretty easily. The trick with the Norn room is just to camp one ramp fairly far up so you can just take care of that group while the rest the mobs just sit around where the Norns are. Then you can pull them one group at a time without being overwhelmed.

H&H without fire eles...My earth ele has ward against melee which might have helped and i used an mm...that's about the only relevant things i can think of besides the fact that I used:
1. My left ring finger for TAB.
and
2. My left thumb for SPACEBAR.
That seemed to be a winning tactic for that quest.
Oh, I did BHA the immoble fire eles (tremors?). That probably helped too.

I did it with all H/H:
- 1 Warrior - Me
- 2 SF heroes (I know fire sucks against Destroyers but too lazy to change builds)
- Dunkoro as LoD healer
- Cynn
- Herta
- Lina
- Mhenlo
Died here and there but finished it without retry at all.

Wards and shouts work wonders in areas where you're getting waves of enemies in tight spots - like that quest. An MM is also useful, as long as you eliminate the nukers (tremors) first. I had no issues, I think two heroes died once, and a few of the NPCs fighting with us.

Same here, but me also as SF, and instead of Dunkoro, Olias as MM

Unfortunately, by saying you find something hard you open yourself up to people telling you how easy they found it like:

See what I mean?
I've found this to be "middling" in terms of difficulty, then again, I've only gone through the game so far on my Rit and Ele, both of whom, for that quest, were dealing elemental damage, and Armor Ignoring damage certainly seems the way to go for Destroyers. If you feel you're getting party-wiped too much, it may be worth looking into taking along a Blinding Flash / Blinding Surge Ele hero with Epidemic - a 90% chance to miss will certainly help your party's chances of survival. A lot of the damage comes from the Destroyer's physical damage dealers, the Necros and Mesmers are only really an annoyance. The PvE-Only skill Alkar's Alchemic Acid also comes in very handy when fighting Destroyers.
I concur with A11Eur0, fall back a bit when after each wave. Perhaps let the Destroyers ball up in the middle, Deep Freeze > Blinding Flash > Epidemic while they're all bunched up.
For severe continual party-wipe situations, always take a Powerstone of Courage with you

Enfeeble works well to take the edge off of the destroyer melee types, low energy cost, fast recharge, and long duration.
Also, setting your GOLEM allies all to DEFENSE works wonders too. The Ai for them isnt terribly bright, but at least in defensive mode they'll help protect your midline / monks.
